General DescriptionThe EESC is composed of 16 items rated on a 5-point Likert-type scale ranging from 1 (not at all true) to 5 (extremely true) to assess children’s difficulties in emotion expression, namely, difficulties in being aware of one’s emotions and unwillingness to express emotions. Higher scores indicate more difficulties in emotion expression, namely, poorer emotion awareness and greater reluctance to express emotions.
