Original VersionCunha, M., Silva, P., Galhardo, A., & Ferreira, C. (2018)
General DescriptionThe External and Internal Shame Scale for Adolescents (EISS-A) consists of eight items that assess internal (e.g., “I am isolated”) and external shame (e.g., “Other people don´t understand me”). The items are answered according to a 5-point scale (0 = “never” and 4 = “always”). The EISS-A allows the assessment of both internal and external shame as well as a global sense of shame. The higher the score, the greater the global sense of shame.
