General DescriptionPVCPQ is a self-report measure of perceived validation and criticism by significant others when a person is experiencing a pain flare. It is composed of 23-item assessed in a Likert scale (1 = never true; 2 = rarely true; 3 = sometimes true; 4 = frequently true; 5 = always true), and has a two-factor solution: Validation of pain (items: 1, 6, 7, 9, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24, 26 and 27) and Criticism of pain (items: 3, 4, 8, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 21 and 25).
